Tout en reconnaissant l’histoire beaucoup plus ancienne de ce territoire, bien au-delà du bicentenaire, nos expositions, évènements et initiatives culturelles exploreront ce que signifie aujourd’hui cet anniversaire pour Ottawa.Pour mettre en lumière un chapitre particulièrement fascinant de l’histoire de la ville, nous nous intéresserons au quartier d’après-guerre Kanata–Beaverbrook, dont une grande partie de ses artères portent le nom d’artistes. L’exposition servira d’inspiration pour le programme qui explorera les liens entre la Collection Firestone et ce quartier unique. Le public sera invité à réfléchir aux croisements entre l’art, le lieu et la planification urbaine dans la construction identitaire d’Ottawa.La Journée Firestone animera tout l’édifice.
